Biography Sandra Tobias
Sandra Tobias is a Visual Artist based in Melbourne. She complete her Fine Arts Degree and Honours in 1984 Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and a Diploma of Teaching from Melbourne University in 1986.
Her arts practice has its roots in connecting to country, places and events. A diary of lost conversations and times and a glimpse of intimate views and humanistic perceptions.
Tobias has held group and solo exhibitions in Hong Kong, Japan and Australia.
Her work is represented in several private and public collections national and international. She has completed several Artist In Residencies in Australia, Taiwan and Italy.
In this somewhat frenetic pace of life she juggles her arts practice, parenting and teaching. She is currently artist in residence at St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne and producing work for her 2019 exhibition and community arts project based on the People's Republic of Brunswick.
